If you’re looking to brighten and improve your smile, dental veneers could be the treatment you’re looking for.

Dental Veneers

Overview

What Are Veneers?

If your teeth are discolored, worn down, chipped, broken, misaligned, uneven, or you have gaps between your teeth, veneers could be a suitable option to help correct your smile and restore your confidence. Veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic porcelain or a composite resin material, which are designed to cover the front surface of your teeth to improve their appearance by changing the form, shape and color of your teeth in a non-invasive or minimally invasive approach. With our porcelain veneers, ARID Newton-Wellesley can create your very own celebrity smile which fits with your whole face.

The Process

The Veneer Process Explained

Our specialists at ARID follow a very specific process when performing the porcelain veneer treatment to ensure results are always exceptional. The stages included in acquiring perfect veneers are:

  1. Shape the tooth – To ensure a snug fit for your veneers, we will reduce the size of your tooth before fitting the porcelain veneer. Your natural tooth will have the enamel reduced by 0.5mm so it is the same thickness once the veneer is placed.
  2. Remove decay – If your teeth are showing signs of decay, we will remove the decay and thoroughly clean the area to prevent further erosion of the tooth and surrounding teeth.
  3. Check pre-existing fillings – If you have any pre-existing fillings, we will need to assess the condition of each filling before fitting a veneer. Theoretically speaking, we can bond a veneer over an existing white filling; however, we do prefer to replace older fillings to ensure you receive the best possible results.
  4. Styling the veneer – To correctly shape your tooth to fit your mouth, we will take an impression of your teeth and send it away to be manufactured into your customized veneers. In this stage, we will color-match the veneer to the shade and color of your existing teeth.
  5. Fitting your veneers – Once we have received your personalized veneers, we will re-clean your teeth in preparation for fitting. After your teeth are cleaned, we can place the porcelain over your teeth, shape the veneer to suit your face and then polish them up so you can show off your beautiful new smile.

Why Veneers

Why Choose Veneers?

Veneers are a completely customized and individualized treatment so your smile is perfect in alignment, whiteness, and size. Porcelain veneers can quickly correct minor esthetic as well as cosmetic issues and are less intrusive than other corrective treatments.

Veneers Care

How To Care For Veneers

To ensure your veneers last a long time without damage, stick to your daily dental care routine of brushing and flossing, but choose a non-abrasive fluoride toothpaste and pair it with a soft toothbrush. You may also want to consider limiting foods and drinks which have a tendency to stain, such as coffee, red wine and other dark foods.
